About this guide

VolcanPoas.com is an independent guide to Poás Volcano National Park in Costa Rica and the tours that visit it. We are not the park, SINAC, a tour operator or GetYourGuide, and the site name describes the place we write about rather than a business. For official park information and tickets, see SINAC; for volcanic activity, see OVSICORI.

Facts here are checked against official announcements reported by the Costa Rican press, the operators' own listings on GetYourGuide (including recent guest reviews) and other published sources. Park rules, prices and opening change, sometimes overnight; when a listing or an official notice and this page disagree, the official notice and the checkout win.

The site is funded by affiliate commissions: when you book through a GetYourGuide link here, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. That never changes what we recommend, including telling you when driving yourself is cheaper. Details on the affiliate disclosure page.
